Blog Introduction
This blog is replacing the old HAC-yahoo group site.
H.A.C. Florida, Inc., (Having Affordable Coverage) is a NON-PARTISAN, grassroots organization of concerned people fighting against the skyrocketing insurance premiums in Florida. We are fighting to have the government created "insurer of last resort" Citizens Property Insurance, and all insurance companies in Florida investigated and the return of affordable property insurance to Florida.

2008 HURRICANE SEASON
While Florida is just about half way through Hurricane season, with yet several tropical depressions to come, insurance billing business continues. Some homeowners have seen a significate decrease in their insurance rates, others have significant decrease in benefits and significant increase in deductibles. Other homeowners have received letters from Citizens' Insurance stating their policies are being transferred to outside companies, and for no apparent reason, no claims, no inquiries, nothing has changed on the homefront.
Hac is interested in learning about your experiences and feelings about your homeowners' insurance policy. Have your deductibles been increased to a percentage you feel uncomfortable with or have they been reduced to levels you feel do not cover your home's value?
Hac is determined to stay on top of the insurance issues of Florida homeowners. We all feel that we should have affordable coverage with the same levels of protection afforded to other states whose climate is not always cooperative.
Your stories and comments will assist HAC in continuing to fight for the homeowner and business owners in Florida in keeping costs of insurance at a fair price for decent coverage.
HAC looks forward to your comments.
